This week officially marks the last full week of classes for Bauer students, and we know what you’re thinking … Finals Are Coming.

Those end-of-semester exams, papers and presentations are unavoidable, but the stress that sometimes pops up around this time? Something you can definitely avoid. Right now, self-care might be the last thing on your loooooong to-do list, but trust us (and these #UHBauer alumni): it’s more important than ever right now to stop, breathe and remember, you’ve got this.
You Do You.
“Best advice, do what is best for you. Not what is best for your friend, or what is best for the kid who makes a 4.0. I personally did best by going to class and practicing problems.” – Chris Gervasio (BBA ’17, MSACCY ’18), Financial Reporting Analyst, ExxonMobil
Practice Makes Perfect.
“Vince Lombardi said, ‘Practice doesn’t make perfect; only perfect practice makes perfect.’ Humans learn through repetition.
Read the textbook, review your notes from lecture, do the bank of practice problems or talk about concepts with your peers. Learn based on your personal learning style. How do you retain knowledge? Reinforcing the basics and reviewing what I know is important for me helped me succeed at Bauer, on the CPA exams, and even now as I continue as a lifelong learner.” – Megan Iselin (BBA ’15, MSACCY ’16), Risk Assurance Experienced Associate, PwC
You’ve Earned It.
Use your study time wisely! Don’t spend a lot of time reviewing concepts and topics that you’ve already mastered. Instead, focus on the topics that tend to be challenging for you. Look back at homework assignments, quizzes, and tests from earlier in the semester to remind yourself of the topics that need the most attention. Do your best to minimize distractions. And, most importantly, reward yourself (with chocolate, a funny YouTube video, or whatever else makes you happy) for staying on track as you’re studying! – Sarayu Sundar (BBA ’11, M.Ed ’14), Ph.D. Candidate, UCLA
