The Houston commute, our morning workout, a break between classes…how did we manage these things before the days of the podcast?

Fortunately, we don’t have to remember those days, and our podcast queue stays pretty full. That doesn’t mean that we don’t love a good recommendation, though. We asked a few #UHBauer students, faculty and alumni to share their favorite podcasts. With their input, here’s our list of 8 Podcasts We Can’t Stop Listening To.
Sobia Mohammad, marketing sophomore
“My favorite podcast has to be Bauer’s #WorkingWisdom, especially the one with Noha and Emma, about millennial and Muslimah in business school & corporate. It is eye-opening for me because I also personally relate to the topic being a Muslim millennial.”
Chris Gervasio (BBA ’17, MSACCY ’18)
“Three podcasts I always listen to are Scott & Holman Pawdcast (a podcast about all Coog Sports), Choiceology (a podcast by Charles Schwab about the choices we make), and Fire Drill (a podcast about setting goals to become financially independent and how that works with different lifestyles.)”
Emma Armer (BBA ’17)
How I Built This: “I love this one because it lets me get the inside scoop on how businesses are built, who played a role in it, and the hills and valleys along the way. They interview guests on the show who you can hear from directly.”
Business Wars: “This podcast focuses on competing brands, like Nike vs. Adidas, Xbox vs. PlayStation, etc. and how each one fought for market share in early years and what changed the tides over time. It is scripted, rather than interview-style, and is narrated by a single person with a story time feel.”
Stuff You Should Know: “Short, digestible episodes giving an overview on a wide range of topics (of varying complexity) that you never knew you needed to know until you listened. Topics on everything from CRISPR gene editing to chiggers.”
Emese Felvegi, Instructional Assistant Professor, Decision & Information Sciences
NPR’s How I Built This: “Guy Raz shares the origin stories of today’s business greats or franchises… Kickstarter, DoorDash, The Power Rangers, more recently.”
NPR’s Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me: “I love it because it’s a fun take on the news with great interviews.”
