Undergraduate Business Programs Associate Dean Frank Kelley recently made a trip to Egypt. He shares his travels below.
It is on my bucket list to visit Egypt, so recently I traveled with a group sponsored by the Houston Museum of Natural Science. We had an Egyptian and a British archaeologist along as guides. The trip began in upper Egypt near Aswan, with a boat trip down the Nile River to various locations, including Luxor, Karnak and Abydos, then on to Cairo and Alexandria by bus. I never felt unsafe, and the people of Egypt were extremely friendly and gracious. Highlights of the trip included seeing sunrise over the pyramids on the Giza plateau, riding a camel, seeing the Sphinx up close, and visiting the Cairo Museum and the Alexandria Library.
