Scholarship can help lower costs for study abroad programs in China, Chile, Berlin, Prague

Applications are due Oct. 4 for a University-based scholarship which can offset some of the costs of attending a Bauer College study abroad program this upcoming winter, spring or summer — including the Spring Break trip to China (Shenzhen and Hong Kong) scheduled for March 11-17 for graduate students only.

The scholarship will also reduce costs for other upcoming study abroad trips led by faculty from Bauer College include Chile, scheduled for Jan. 7-13, 2018 for graduate students only; Berlin, scheduled for May 2018 for graduate students only; and Prague, scheduled for May 2018 for undergraduate students only.

Study Abroad: China
Spring Break, March 11-17, 2018

Shenzhen and Hong Kong

Graduate students only

Classes:

MANA 7353 Regional Issues in Global Management: Doing Business in China, Management Professor Steve Werner (3.0 CR)

MANA 7397 International Environment of Business, Management Clinical Assistant Professor Daniel Currie (3.0 CR)

Cost:

$2,400 per person

Includes:

  • Welcome Reception Sunday evening
  • Hotel Accommodations
  • Six nights, double occupancy
  • Meals
  • Breakfast all days
  • Lunch four days
  • Dinner one day
  • Guided city tours
  • Company visits (4–5) and site tours

Important:

  • Participants must have a valid passport and Chinese visa. You can get your passport through the UH Learning Abroad office.
  • Students are responsible for their own arrival and departure arrangements.
  • WeChat will be used for communication during the trip.
  • Scholarship opportunities are available to help fund your study abroad.

BERLIN
Graduate students only
This trip is designed to allow students to experience
the German culture as well as learn about doing business
in Europe. Students may take two courses for up to
six credit hours.

CHILE
Graduate students only
The Chile program provides students an opportunity to learn from senior management in Chilean companies who work in a global context. Students will learn about the Chilean
economic model, why their economy is so dynamic and competitive, and have an opportunity to learn about
operations through briefings and site visits.

NEW
PRAGUE
Undergraduate students only
This trip is designed to allow students to experience the culture of the Czech Republic, as well as learn about doing business in Eastern Europe. Students may take both
courses for up to six credit hours. Both courses are online
courses registered with distance education. The study
abroad trip and an orientation session are mandatory
course requirements.
