It’s the end of the semester, but we’re always looking ahead. As many of you prepare to cross the stage this Saturday, your sights are set on new careers, pursuing another degree and more. We have no doubt that big things are in the future for all our #UHBauer grads, and here, we’re highlighting four who are ending the BBA program with a cumulative 4.0 GPA.
Nini Nguyen
Major: Accounting

Hometown: Houston
Bauer Organizations/Programs: Beta Alpha Psi
Career Goals/Future Plans: My career goals consist of becoming a CPA and one day a Partner for a firm.
Internships/Employment Offers: Ernst & Young LLP Internship with a full-time offer upon my completion of the MSACCY degree.
Accomplishments: I am a first-generation college student while working as a Residential Advisor for UH Student Housing. Through my involvement with Beta Alpha Psi, I obtained an internship with EY and signed a full-time offer. As a PPA student, I have been accepted into the MSACCY program at UH for next semester.
Usman Nadeem
Major: Accounting

Hometown: Houston
Bauer Organizations/Programs: Emerging Leaders Academic Success Program (ELASP) and Beta Alpha Psi (BAP)
Career Goals/Future Plans: Complete the MSACCY program, become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and become a leader in the accounting profession.
Internships/Employment Offers: Completed internship in Audit from KPMG, and received full-time employment offer from the firm.
Accomplishments: I consider graduating on time with a 4.0 GPA while working almost 30 hours per week on average to be a great accomplishment, as well as to be able to intern to get practical experience and a get full-time employment offer during that time are significant accomplishments for me.
Gabriela Velasquez
Major: Supply Chain Management

Hometown: Houston, Texas
Bauer Organizations/Programs: Bauer Sourcing & Procurement Organization (SPO), First Generation Coogs (FGC), The Challenger Program
Career Goals/Future Plans: I have accepted a full time offer with TechnipFMC as a Supply Chain Specialist in their Rotational Program.
Internships/Employment Offers: Completed two internships with Sunnova Energy & ExxonMobil, received five full time employment offers from JB Hunt, National Oilwell Varco, TC Energy, TechnipFMC & Amazon.
Accomplishments: I participated in three case competitions (finalist for LyondellBasell case competition).
Huong Hoang Quynh Pham
Major: Accounting

Hometown: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Bauer Organizations/Programs: Professional Program in Accountancy (PPA), Beta Alpha Psi – active member; Officer of Internal Audit, Fall 2018.
Activities: former ELASP for transfer mentee.
Being a Bauer student gives me an opportunity to work at the Dean’s office.
Career Goals/Future Plans: I will be interning for Ernst and Young in the Spring. In March, after the internship, I will finish MSACCY program at Bauer to get my graduate degree. I plan to graduate in May 2021, take the CPA exam and hopefully start fulltime with EY.
Accomplishments: First place Phillips 66 Internal Audit Case Competition, Outstanding Academic and Leadership Excellence Award – Department of Accountancy and Taxation, ELASP Certificate.
