Update, Dec. 14, 2016:
The Bauer College Department of Management would like to thank everyone at the college who donated to the department’s Toys for Tots campaign. The department collected more than 100 toys to help brighten the holidays of less fortunate children.
Original story, Dec. 2, 2016:
The Department of Management in the C. T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston is serving as a drop-off location for the national Toys for Tots campaign, which gifts donated toys to underprivileged children in the greater Houston area.
Unwrapped, new toys are being accepted for donation in Melcher Hall, Suite 315 from now until Dec. 14 during regular University business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The national toy drive is coordinated by local volunteers and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.
“We would greatly appreciate any contributions from faculty, staff or students in the college for this worthwhile program,” Department of Management Chair Steve Werner said.
Traditionally, the local toy donation effort is so large, the inner-loop Harris County Toys for Tots office that coordinates it gathers at the George R. Brown Convention Center for two days later in December to organize and distribute the donated toys to local qualifying families and organizations.
